    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a Myotherapist?

No, you do not need a referral to visit a Myotherapist. Simply call our clinic to book your appointment! Please note that referrals are required for WorkCover, Veterans Affairs or Medicare Chronic Disease Management patients.

    How long is each appointment?

We offer 30 minute, 45-minute and 60 minute consultations.

What will I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring anything relevant to your current condition. This includes referrals, letters, and medical scans. We also recommend that you wear comfortable clothing to your appointment so your myotherapist can complete a thorough examination if required.

    How do I claim?

CDMs, TAC, WorkCover, NDIS, and HICAPS for private health claiming is available onsite. With the exception of plan-managed NDIS participants, accounts must be paid in full on the day of the appointment and our friendly reception team will prepare the necessary information for you to claim your entitlements.

Does private health insurance cover Ballarat Myotherapy Clinic's services?

If you have the appropriate level of private health insurance cover, you will receive a rebate for your myotherapy consultation. To learn whether your health fund will cover your podiatry appointment, call our clinic today.

    Can I claim with Medicare?

In Australia, myotherapy is considered an allied health profession. Medicare rebates are generally not available for visits to the podiatrist. However, Medicare will cover treatment for those with chronic medical conditions (such as chronic arthritis) under the Chronic Disease Management Scheme (CDM). The CDM is a government incentive that allows individuals with a chronic medical illness or condition to receive Medicare rebates for a maximum of five allied health services each calendar year. A chronic medical condition is one that has been present for six months or longer. Your GP will prepare an Enhance Primary Care (EPC) and refer you to an allied practitioner such as Modern Medicine if you qualify for treatment.

    Do you accept NDIS patients?

Our myotherapists treat self-managed and plan-managed participants. We will be able to accept NDIS managed participants in 2022.

Do you accept TAC and WorkCover patients?

Yes, our myotherapists treat TAC and WorkCover patients.

Do you accept members of Department of Veterans Affairs?
